AN OBITUARY OF
MRS. L. PEARCE

Addie Bernice Bell, oldest daughter of Oliver and Lillie Bell, was born near Newburg, Dec. 10, 1906, and passed away at her home at Westfield Friday, June 3, 1932, at the age of 25 years, 5 months and 23 days.

She lived near Newburg until she was 13 years of age, when her parents moved to their home at Westfield.

On May 4, 1924, at Grinnell she was united in marriage to Leonard M. Pearce of Westfield, where they continued to make their home. To this union was born one daughter, Marvene Bernice.

Besides her husband and little daughter she leaves to mourn her mother and four brothers, Luverne, Clarence, George and Dale, and six sisters, Wilma, Minnie, Arlene, Eva and Elva (twins), and Evelyn. It has been two months and 21 days since her father passed away.

Bernice will be greatly missed in the community where she took active part in church, Grange and in all neighborhood activities. But most of all she will be missed in her home where she was a loving mother and a loyal wife. Bernice had a sunny disposition which won her many friends. Even after her marriage she kept a loving, sisterly interest in her brothers and sisters. Since her father's death she had been a great comfort to her mother.

Funeral services were held at the Westfield church Sunday afternoon, June 5. Rev. W.B. Wilson of Newburg and Rev. Robert Lincoln had charge of the service.

A quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Lord and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Howell sang "We Are Going Down the Valley," "An Unclouded Day" and "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." Mrs. Willis Evans was pianist.

Pallbearers were James Peak, John Eversdyke, Johnny and Henry Krumm, Paul Wray and Vernon McBlain.
