AN OBITUARY OF
MARY A. MCKEE

Mary A., second child of Wm. and Sarah McKee, was born near Davenport, Ia., Jan. 14, 1857, and passed away at the home, 602 High street, March 1.

Her girlhood days were spent this farm where she shared as much of the work in the home as her strength would permit. In 1881 with her parents, brothers and sisters, she moved to a farm near Malcom, Iowa, where she lived for almost 20 years. The past 35 years her home has been in Grinnell.

Miss McKee joined the Presbyterian church early in life and upon moving to Grinnell she placed her membership with the Congregational church. She has lived a beautiful Christian life and only sickness kept her away from church. The past five years she has been in very poor health and has been tenderly cared for by her sister, Agnes, who shared the home with her.

She leaves to mourn her loss three sisters, two brothers, several nieces and nephews, numerous relatives and unnumbered friends.

Funeral services were held from the home Friday at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Robert Inglis. Mrs. Bouma sang one of her favorite hymns. Pallbearers were five nephews and a cousin: Wm. McKee, P.E. Pyle, A.W. Pyle, A.A. Robison, E.F. Holmes and J.G. Shifflett.

Interment was made in the family lot in the Malcom cemetery.
