FUNERAL SERVICES
FOR MRS. JANE MCKEE

Jane Hicks, daughter of Joseph and Anna Hicks, was born in Fermanaugh County, Ireland, Mar. 10, 1872. She died at the Good Nursing Home, Oskaloosa, June 28. She came to the United States in 1893 and helped a cousin rear her family in Illinois. Then in 1916 she was united in marriage with David McKee of Montezuma and assumed the rearing of the three small motherless McKee children. After Mr. McKee's death in 1929, she continued to make her home in Montezuma until her health failed and she was taken to the nursing home.

Known lovingly by her friends as Jennie, she was a long time member of the Montezuma Methodist church and of the Rebekah Lodge.

Mrs. McKee is survived by a sister in Ireland; a daughter, Emma Campbell, Carlton, Wash.; three sons, Robert McKee, Aberdeen, Wash., and John and Albert McKee, both of Oskaloosa; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and many friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. June 30 at the Steffy Funeral Home in Montezuma, conducted by the Rev. George Snyder. Mrs. Louise Doonan sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset." She was accompanied by Mrs. Nellie Doonan, pianist.

Burial was in the Masons-I.O.O.F. cemetery. Casket-bearers were Norman McKee, James Agnew, Clarence McKee, Marvin Current, Lester McKee and Jerry Current.
