NOTICE OF PETER
W. BAKEWELLPeter W. Bakewell was born Nov. 5, 1864, at Churchtown, Ia., and died in Des Moines August 3, 1935.
He came to the Iowa prairies in Wright county in March1882. He married Etta Hatt in 1889 at Belmont, Ia., and lived on a farm there for a number of years, and then moved to Missouri. Two children were born, Glen and Ival. Glen passed away in 1914 in San Francisco, Calif.
Mr. Bakewell worked on the railroad in Iowa for eight years. He had been employed around Grinnell and Laurel since 1919.
He was a one of a family of seven, six boys and one girl, and leaves to mourn one brother, William of Lansing, Ia., and one sister, Mrs. Anna Lowe, of Anamosa. The rest preceded him in death.
He will be missed around Grinnell and Laurel by his friends. He was buried from St. Mary's church of Grinnell and rests in Hazelwood cemetery. The pallbearers were Jake Weber, Jim Cox, Fred Weber, George Schultz, Guy Mintle and George Adkins.
