RITES FRIDAYMrs. June M. Cox, 62, wife of Francis D. Cox, of 1125 Summer St., died suddenly Monday evening at her home.
The daughter of Henry Eugene and Eva Elnora Utterback Snyder, she was born June 1, 1909, at Sigourney, Iowa. She attended the Delta, Iowa, public schools and was graduated from Delta High School. She attended business school in Des Moines.
On Feb. 5, 1932, she was married to Francis D. Cox at St. Joseph, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Cox came to Grinnell in 1933. She assisted her husband at the Davis Paint Store, and for the past five years had been employed at Bangs Apparel.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her husband Francis; her two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Dianne) Angle of Concord, Calif., and Mrs. Gary (Jocelyn) Blom of Grinnell; four grandchildren, Randy and Jeffrey of Concord and Gregory and Brian Blom of Grinnell and one brother, Wilford E. Snyder of Lehigh Acres, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Marion F. Snyder.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cox will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 16, at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. Eugene Young, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist church, officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Willard Heffner, and pallbearers will include Robert Bryan, Virgil Doud, Glenn Douglas, Burrson Farmer, Dale Rohr and Virgil Tomlinson. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home. Should friends desire, memorials in Mrs. Cox's name may be made to the coronary care unit at Grinnell General Hospital.
