MRS. ROBERTSON DIES;
SERVICES SATURDAY

Mrs. Emily J. Robertson, 77, of Long Branch, N.J., passed away there Jan. 14, 1969. Mrs. Robertson was born Nov. 22, 1891 in New York City, the daughter of David and Margaret Pavey Jenkins. Following her father's early death, at the age of 13, she came to Iowa to make her home with Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Wesco of the Chester neighborhood. She was united in marriage with Ernest Strand who formerly operated the Newburg telephone switchboard. He preceded her in death some 50 years ago. Mrs. Robertson was later married to George Robertson, who also preceded her in death in 1958. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Gurtheinz, now of Scranton, Pa., and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Potts of Union, N.J., and Mrs. Margaret Whittenburg of East Orange, N.J.

Mrs. Robertson was a member of the Simpson Methodist Church (in)? Long Branch, N.J.

Graveside services for Mrs. Robertson will be held at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at the Chester Township Cemetery, with the Rev. J. Eugene Young, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be next to her first husband, Ernest Strand.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home Friday evening and Saturday.
