FUNERAL MONDAYMemorial services for Mrs. Stephen Fay were conducted by Rev. John Hansel at 1 p.m. Apr. 29 at the Steffy Funeral Home. Miss Alice Underwood played the musical selections and accompanied William Rempp as he sang "Beyond the Sunset."
Interment was in the family lot in Jackson Township cemetery. Casket bearers were Cliff Smith, James B. McCormick, Charles Good, Madison Sams, Glenn Bryan and Leroy Bryan.
Elizabeth Hannah was born June 1, 1865, a daughter of William and Georgiana Bilbo, at Chelsea, London, England. She married Stephen Walton Fay at Chelsea on Apr. 12, 1888, and to this union four children were born. She and her family came to the U.S. Apr. 3, 1912. They resided in Montezuma in the early 20's while Rev. Fay was pastor of the Monte, Grinnell and Union Mills Christian churches.
Following his death in 1927, she resided with a daughter, Hilda, first in Des Moines and then in California. She died Apr. 26 in California at the age of 97 years, 10 months and 26 days. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Hilda Howe, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Daisy Clarkson, Isle of Man; two grandsons and (seven grandchildren?), other relatives and many friends.
