MASON BROWN

Mason Brown, 5, of Grinnell died of cancer Wednesday, April 27 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 29, at 10:30 a.m. at Grinnell Christian Church with John Epperson, pastor of the church, officiating. Pallbearers will be Marvin Burkett, Scott and Tony Provin, Bob Sutfin and Brandon Tuttle. Honorary bearer will be John Bailey. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home with family members present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Mason Brown Memorial Fund.

The son of Shane and Amy Provin Brown, he was born Jan. 28, 2000, in Grinnell. He enjoyed attending Sunday School at Grinnell Christian Church. He also enjoyed playing Nintendo 64, riding his electric four-wheeler, playing baseball with his dad and watching movies and cartoons.

He is survived by his parents; one sister, Asia Provin of Grinnell; his grandparents Dot Provin of Grinnell, Mike and Mary Provin of Searsboro and Murray and Barb Brown of Malcom; his great-grandparents, Louise Provin of Guernsey and Barb Brown of Malcom and his great great grandmother, Edna Provin of Brooklyn.
