L. GREENWALD
DIES MONDAY
AT HOSPITAL

Lena Greenwald, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ulrich Gitzendonner, was born April 7, 1869 at Arena, Wisconsin. When a small child she came with her family to Lansing, Iowa, and later to New Hampton, where she attended the public schools. She accepted Christ as her Saviour when a young lady and has been a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church at New Hampton.

Mrs. Greenwald loved her home and served her family long and well. Illness came into her life about two years ago, and she came to make her home with her son, William, in Chester township north of Grinnell, last fall. Her illness became critical May 6, and she entered a Grinnell hospital where she quietly passed away Monday, May 16. She was 86 years of age.

She was united in marriage to Samuel Greenwald at Charles City, Iowa, on September 10, 1895, and to this union were born two sons, William Geyer and Dakota Ulrich. With the exception of four years spent in North Dakota, 1907-1911, the family home has been at New Hampton, Iowa. Mr. Greenwald passed away in 1941.

She leaves her two sons, William Geyer Greenwald of Chester Township north of Grinnell, Dakota Ulrich Greenwald, Syracuse, N.Y.; a brother, Herman Gitzendonner of San Francisco; a sister, Mrs. Andrew Haller of Charles City, Iowa, 5 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 9:30 from Smith Funeral Home with Rev. C.E. Kingsley officiating from the First Baptist church at New Hampton. Rev. Harry Stickle of New Hampton was assisting minister. Burial was at New Hampton.
