MRS. WM. GROPPER
DIES IN DAVENPORT

Mrs. Wm. Gropper, mother of R.W. Gropper of Grinnell and Mrs. H.H. Hansen of Malcom, passed away at her home in Davenport Tuesday, Dec. 9. The funeral was held Dec. 11 from the Hill and Fredrick's funeral home. Burial was in City cemetery at Davenport.

Born on March 17, 1851 in Germany, she came to Davenport in 1868. May 5, 1888 she was united in marriage to Wm. Gropper at Malcom, Ia. Most of her life was spent in Davenport with the exception of twelve years at Malcom. She was of the Lutheran faith.

She leaves to mourn her loss one son, R.W. Gropper of Grinnell, and three daughters, Mrs. Ella Hansen of Malcom, Mrs. Sophie Emendorfer of Davenport, and Verona Gropper at home, nine grand children and one great grand child.

Pall bearers were Chris Schilder, John Schilder, John Emendorfer, Henry Hansen, Harry Kuehl and Henry Henselman.

Those attending the funeral from here were Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Gropper and sons, Wayne and Earl, Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Hansen and daughter, Wilma, Mr. and Mrs. John Schilder, and Chris Schilder.
