AHRENS FUNERAL
TO BE TUESDAY

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell for Edward F. Ahrens, 74, who died Sunday at a local hospital after a long illness. The Rev. John Rhodes, of LeGrand, will officiate. Burial will be in Hazelwood cemetery.

Mr. Ahrens was born June 23, 1881, at Reading, Ohio. He was married to Carrie E. Schultz, March 14, 1905, at Barnes City. He lived here since 1894, when he came from Ohio. He was a farmer and businessman and was in business since 1917 at the same location. He was a member of the Lutheran church and the BPOE.

He is survived by a daughter, Verna Tullis of Indianola, and three sons, Edward of Fairfield and Milo and Wesley of Grinnell. A son, Fremond, preceded him in death. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Dora Geiger of Ames and Mrs. Ella McMillan of Van Nuys, Calif.
