OBITUARY

Carrie May Wood, daughter of Henry and Melissa Barnhart, was born in Poweshiek County, October 30, 1884. She passed away at her home October 17, 1918, at the age of thirty-three years, eleven months and seventeen days. She was married to Fred Ernest Taylor, January 6, 1909. She was left motherless in infancy and was taken into the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Wood and to them was a most devoted daughter.

She was a kind and loving wife and sister always thinking of the welfare of her loved ones before herself.

In 1907 she was united with the Methodist church at Blue Point and was a faithful Christian and earnest worker in that church ever since. She taught the Infant Sunday school class and very few members were more regular attendants than she.

A few moments before death claimed her she was asked by a friend spiritual conditions and she said with a smile that everything was well with her.

She leaves to mourn her loss a loving husband, father and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Taylor, Mrs. Earl Woods, of Grinnell, two brothers, Clark of Portland, Oregon, and Philip of Searsboro, Iowa, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

She never had the pleasure of enjoying good health and was very frail from childhood but always cheerful and never complaining.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
