Lauretta M. Rempp, 81, of the Westfield community died of cancer Tuesday morning, May 21, at University Hospitals in Madison, Wis.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Westfield Cemetery, with the Rev. William F. Lawson, pastor of the Grinnell Northside Friends Church, officiating. Pallbearers will be Robert Dale, Kenton Elliott, Mike Guerts, Thomas Kleigl, Harold Meeker, James Peak and Martin Pearce.

A memorial has been established, and contributions may be sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

The daughter of Ernest and Laura Nipper Lincoln, she was born Jan. 19, 1924, in the Oak Grove community south of Grinnell. She attended Grinnell schools, graduating from Grinnell High School in 1941. She later attended Drake University where she received a degree in education. She had taught in rural Grinnell schools, in the second grade at Bailey Park Elementary School here, in the Elkhart Elementary School in 1968-69, and in the Park Avenue Elementary School in Des Moines, retiring in 1979 for health reasons.

She was married to Donald M. Rempp on Feb. 22, 1944, in Montezuma. They lived in the Oak Grove community until 1950 when they moved to the Westfield community.

Mrs. Rempp was a member of the Iowa State Teachers Association.

She is survived by her husband; her son, Thomas; a brother, Wayne Lincoln of Lubeco, S.C.; a half-brother, Raymond Lincoln of Albert Lea, Minn.; a half-sister, Roxy Guyer Searcy of Des Moines; and two stepbrothers, Charles Sartwell of Salinas, Calif., and Bill Sartwell of Marina, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents; a half-brother, Roy (Ted) Lincoln; and a half-sister, Frances Nipper.
