MRS. SARAH E. JACOBS
IS SINCERELY MOURNED

Sarah Emily Killin, eldest daughter of Hugh and Phoebe Killin, was born at Springfield, Ohio, Dec. 18, 1848, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M.E. Satchell, in Grinnell, Iowa, July 31, 1926. At the age of ten, she with her parents, came to Iowa, locating in Poweshiek County. In 1870 she was united in marriage with Theodric P. Jacobs at Montezuma, Iowa. Here the new home was established and they lived there until 1899 when they moved to Grinnell, which place was their residence until death.

Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs, all of whom survive except one son, Lewis E. Her husband also preceded her in death. The surviving children are: J.M. Jacobs of Campo, Colo.; W.F. Jacobs, Newton, Iowa; Ella M. Woodward, Des Moines, Iowa; Mattie E. Coburn, Brooklyn, Iowa; Blanche C. Satchell and Hulbert P. Jacobs of Grinnell and H.L. Jacobs of Lakeworth, Fla. Mrs. Jacobs united with the Methodist church in early life and was a true follower of her Saviour. She was a good wife, a loving mother and a friend to all who needed her.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon in charge of the Rev. George Blagg. Music was furnished by Misses Clara Phillips and Mary Dieterich and Messrs. D.C. Philips and Carl Reed with Miss Maud Bortell at the organ. Burial was made in Hazelwood.
