HENRY YORK STEINER

After months of suffering, following a serious internal injury received last summer, Henry York Steiner died on Friday night at 10 o'clock at the Presbyterian hospital in Chicago, where he was taken a few weeks ago to undergo a critical operation. The body was brought to Grinnell on Saturday evening and private funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon. Rev. P.F. Marston read the dead boy's favorite psalm, the forty-third, and led in prayer, and Mrs. E.B. Scheve sang his favorite hymn, "O Master, Let Me Walk With Thee." It was a sweet and beautiful service. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

Henry York was born in Springfield, Ohio, August 12, 1897. Most of his young boyhood has been passed in Grinnell. He was a lad of straightforward and truthful nature; and was to his parents not only a son, dearly loved, but a comrade as well. The long illness, dating from his injury last summer, has added to the sadness of their bereavement. Professor and Mrs. Steiner may well feel that the entire community feels with them the weight of this sad bereavement.
