Mrs. Carrie R. Correll, 81, of Grinnell, formerly of Ravenna, Ohio, died suddenly Thursday noon, Oct. 31, at Grinnell General Hospital.

The daughter of John B. and Sarah Bechtel Stoner, she was born Dec. 12, 1892, near Greentown, Ohio. She attended rural schools near her home.

In 1920, she was married to Homer L. Correll near Greentown, Ohio. The couple had two children, Stanley J. Correll of Grinnell and Ferne A. Correll who died in 1970.

Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Correll farmed near Greentown, and in 1935 they moved to Ravenna, where Mr. Correll was associated with Nationwide Insurance Company-Farm Bureau Insurance. Mr. Correll died in February, 1958, and Mrs. Correll continued to make her home in Ravenna until 1973 when she moved to Grinnell to be near her son.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational in Ravenna.

Survivors include her son, Stanley, and five grandchildren, Mark, Patricia, Thomas, Matthew and Barbara Correll, all of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter; her parents; two brothers, Curtis and Harrison Stoner; and one sister, who died in infancy.

Funeral services for Mrs. Correll were held at 10 a.m. today (Monday) at the Wood Funeral Home in Ravenna. Burial was at North Lawn Cemetery near Canton, Ohio. The Smith Funeral Home of Grinnell was in charge of arrangements.
