ROY HATCHER

Roy G. "Bud" Hatcher. 74, of DeKalb, Ill., a native of Grinnell, died Friday, Aug. 30, at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford Ill.

Funeral services were held Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in DeKalb, with Bishop Douglas Holyoak officiating. Burial was at Fairview Park Cemetery there.

He was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Grinnell and was the son of Gilbert Floid and Lucille Muckler Hatcher. He was married to Mary H. Elliott in Nashua.

Mr. Hatcher worked for the state of Iowa as a forester in the Conservation Department for over 35 years. He was a member of the Society of American Foresters.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Deborah Hatcher of Gilbert, Ariz., and Susan Morgan of DeKalb and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Esther Hatcher; and one sister, Betty Macht.

A memorial is being established and contributions may be sent in care of the Anderson Funeral Home, Box 605, 2011 S. Fourth St., DeKalb, Ill. 60115.
