SERVICES SETJohn N. Reitzler, 72, of 1111 Fourth Ave. died at his home early Sunday morning.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Harry N. Linnenbrink, pastor of the church, officiating. The Scripture service will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn.
The son of Joseph and Kathryn Kline Reitzler, he was born April 25, 1904, near Brooklyn. He was married to Anna Beatrice Crider on May 15, 1929, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn. The couple had five children.
Mr. and Mrs. Reitzler farmed near Brooklyn and Malcom. Following his wife's death in 1966, Mr. Reitzler made his home in Grinnell. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his children, Maynard J. Reitzler of Montclair, Calif., Francis E. Reitzler of Grinnell, Merle E. Reitzler of Malcom, Mrs. Jerry (Mary Elizabeth) Collett of Washington, Iowa, and Dale Joseph Reitzler of Diamond Bar, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Kathryn Reitzler of Deep River; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Edward Reitzler of North English and Marvin Reitzler of Newton; and four sisters, Mrs. Joe (Mary) Upah of Chelsea and Mrs. P.T. (Anna) Varnum of Grinnell, Mrs. George (Rosella) Henry of Brooklyn, and Mrs. Don (Catherine) Nowotny of Victor.
