JUANITA GREGORY, 91

Juanita Gregory, 91, of Montezuma, died on Friday, May 2, 2008, at the Comfort House in Pella.

Her funeral service was Monday, May 5, 2008, at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Monteuzma. Burial was at the Jackson Townshp Cemetery in Montezuma. The Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma was in charge of arrangements.

Juanita Irene Gregory, daughter of Webb and Ina (Strong) Baker was born Feb. 2, 1917, in Cadillac, Mich. From early childhood she lived with her Aunt Mae and Uncle Warren Watts of rural Montezuma until she married Claire Gregory on May 15, 1940, in Lancaster, Mo. To this union two children were born, Dick and Don. They lived east of town where they farmed together all of their lives. Juanita was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Claire and Juanita loved to travel to Hawaii, Australia, Europe and Florida. Juanita truly enjoyed reading, playing cards, cooking, gardening and above all, being with her family.

Her memory is honored by two sons, Dick (Miriam) Gregory of Montezuma and Don (Doris) Gregory of Montezuma; four grandchildren, Brett (Traci) Gregory of Montezuma, Michelle (Kevin) Carpenter of Story City, Brenda (Alan) Suit of St. Charles, Mo. and Brent (LeAnn) James of Montezuma; six great grandchildren, Katelyn Gregory, Kerri Gregory, Angela Suit, Nicole Suit, Joslin James and Mackenzie James: a sister-in-law, Donna Baker; two aunts, Mae Watts and Fae Vail; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Webb and Ina Baker; her step-father, Howard Stabler; her husband, Claire Gregory; and her brother, Eugene Baker.

Memorials may be made to the Grinnell Regional Medical Center or the Comfort House of Pella.
