RITES FRIDAY

Mabel L. Renaud, 64, of Grinnell, the widow of Harold L. Renaud, died Tuesday evening at Grinnell General Hospital of an illness of the past few years.

The daughter of Elmer and Della Cole White, she was born Sept. 9, 1908, in Grinnell. She attended Parker Elementary School and was graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of 1927.

On Feb. 15, 1931, she was married to Harold Lewis Renaud in the Grinnell Methodist parsonage. The couple had one son and one daughter, Robert L. Renaud of Rte. 1, Grinnell, and Mrs. Laurence D. (Janice Marie) Sidie of Richards-Gerbaur AFB, Mo.

Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Renaud farmed one mile south of Grinnell. Mr. Renaud died Nov. 17, 1968, and Mrs. Renaud continued to live on the family farm until her health failed and she moved to St. Francis Manor Oct.13, 1971.

She was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the W.S.C.S. of the church, Grinnell Museum Society, the Literary Clan, The Friendship Community Club, and the Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. Renaud is survived by her two children; six grandchildren, Laura Beth Sidie, Leslie Ann Sidie, David Kent Sidie, and Lisa Lynn Sidie, all of Richards-Gerbaur AFB, Mo., and Scott Lewis Renaud and Brent Earl Renaud, both of Rte. 1, Grinnell; one brother, Harry W. White of West Des Moines; one sister, Mrs. Adolph (Marie) Altemeier of Rte. 3, Grinnell; one uncle, Harry M. White of Hillsboro, Ore.; an aunt, Mrs. William (Pearl) Cole of Indianapolis, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Funeral services for Mrs. Renaud will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Eugene Young, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church officiating, and the Rev. Eugene L. McClure assisting. Organist will be Mrs. Willard Heffner and pallbearers will be Carl Benson, Lawrence Breneman, Keith Dempster, Donovan Evans, Virgil Jones, and James McNally. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.

Should friends desire, a memorial has been established in memory of Mrs. Renaud.
