BURIAL HERE FOR MRS. LAUGHTER

Doris K. Laughter, 65, Madison, Wis., formerly of Grinnell, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, at her home of cancer.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 27, at Cress Funeral Home in Madison with the Rev. Robert Eagle, chaplain at Methodist Hospital, and the Rev. Mary Salsbury, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside services at Hazelwood Cemetery were held Monday afernoon with the Rev. Raymond Lott of the United Methodist Church officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice Grinnell.

She was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Grinnell, the daughter of Earl and Elsie Murray Kennedy. She was a graduate of Grinnell High School and attended Grinnell College. She was married in 1946 in Grinnell to Clyde Laughter, and had been a resident of Madison since 1964. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church; United Methodist Women; Monona Chapter, Order of Eastern Star; a member of the advisory board of the Madison Rainbow Girls and the recipient of the Grand Cross of Color of the Rainbow Girls and was active in Meals on Wheels and Independent Living.

She is survived by her husband Clyde N. Laughter; two daughters Carolyn Wood and Martha Lippitt and five grandchildren, all of Madison, and her mother Elsie Kennedy and aunt Mable Martin, both of Grinnell.
