LEE ANN BEASON

Lee Ann Beason, 45, died Tuesday March 1, 2005, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service was held Friday, March 4, at Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Len Eberhart and Deacon Diane Eberhart officiating. Casket bearers were Jesse Burgher Jr., Eric Bru, Rick Foster, Dean Hartrick, Mike Pothast and Randy Westphal. Burial followed at Woodland Cemetery in Lynnville. Memorials may be made to the Lee Ann Beason Memorial Fund. Condolences may be sent to www.smithfh.com.

She was born April 1, 1959, in Keokuk, the daughter of Grover and Mabel Smith Burgher. She attended school across the Mississippi River in Hamilton, Ill., and was a 1977 graduate of Hamilton High School. After residing in Hamilton, she moved to Des Moines where she was employed with Preferred Risk Insurance Company. She also resided in Colony, Texas, where she worked for a video store. She had resided in Grinnell for 15 years and had been employied at the Grinnell Country Club, the Depot Crossing, St. Francis Manor and Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance.

She was married on Aug. 14, 1997, in Brooklyn to Darrell Beason. She enjoyed the outdoors and was a NASCAR race fan.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Amy Hall and Logan Carlton of Grinnell; two stepsons, David and Jeremy Beason, both of Ewart; one granddaughter; one brother, Jesse Burgher of Largo, Fla., and two sisters, Sina Hartrick of Olathe, Kan., and Vicki Timmerman of Springfield, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her patents and two brothers in infancy.
