MRS. J.C. WALKER
FUNERAL MONDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. J.C. Walker, who passed away Feb. 24, at her home in Pomona, Calif., were held yesterday morning from the Congregational church, conducted by Rev. E.M. Vittum. Mrs. Walker was 80 years of age. She had been making her home in Pomona with her daughter, Carolyn, who accompanied the body to Grinnell. One son, George Walker, of Iowa City, was in attendance. Pallbearers were: Carl Child, Grant Ramsey, Herb Armstrong, R. B. Work, F.F. Clindinin, and Russell Baggs. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

The Pomona paper say:

Mrs. Addie C. Walker passed away at 10 o'clock Tuesday night at the family home, 159 E. Pearl st., after a short illness.

Mrs. Walker was born July 30, 1850 at Springville, New York. She has been a resident of Pomona for seven years, coming here from the state of Washington, but most of her life was spent at Grinnell, Iowa.

She was a member of the Pilgrim Congregational church and an earnest Christian worker, being president of the Woman's Bible class for many years. Mrs. Walker is survived by five sons, M.C. Walker, Abbotsford. B.C.; Geo. H., Iowa City, Iowa; Leonard, Los Angeles; John C., Pomona; Ernest, Tacoma, Wash.; three daughters, Carolyn M. Walker, at home; Mrs. Alice W. Minard, Brookings, S.D.; Mrs. Mark D. Taylor, Pine Tree, Wyoming. There are 27 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles M. Chafee, Biloxi, Miss., and one sister, Mrs. Susie M. Taylor, Spencer, Ind.
