MRS. D.M. WOODARD

Amanda M. Eastwood was born on September 30, 1819. Her parents died in early childhood, so she was reared by her grandparents. She was married to David M. Woodard September 16, 1847. The young people located in Michigan, remaining there but one year, when they drove overland to Wheeling, Cook county, Illinois, and for twenty-four years resided in and near Chicago, and in the neighborhood of Geneseo, Henry county, Ill. They came to Iowa in 1872, settling on a farm near Newburg. In 1884 they moved to Grinnell, where they afterwards resided. Mr. Woodard departed from this life in 1895.

Five children were born to them, Marian, Charles, Delia, George and Willis, of whom only two survive, Mrs. Frank Kemball and George Woodard. "Mother" Woodard rests after a long, useful life of service and good deeds, and shares the inheritance of those who are called by God to possess the kingdom.
