GEORGE WORRALL

George Worrall was born in Morgan County, Ohio, Feb. 23rd, 1837, and died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J.J. Mullin, Grinnell, Ia., August 3rd, 1913.

Under the parental rooftree on the Ohio farm he dwelt for eighteen years and then moved with his parents, brother and sisters, to Muscatine county, Iowa. He grew to vigorous and joyful manhood and chose for his occupation that of farming, in which he was very successful during a period of about forty years, the greater part of which time his residence being in Iowa County.

He was married at the age of twenty-five to Elizabeth Norton. Of this happy union six children were born, two of whom have gone to their eternal home, Lizzie Adella dying in infancy, and Jesse Butler at the age of forty-two. The wife and mother preceded him to the better world in 1907. The surviving children are Mrs. J.J. Mullin, Mrs. C.W. Shaul, Mrs. W.L. Hastings and Dr. J.E. Worrall.

Mr. Worrall had been in bad health since a severe illness in 1895, and his last sickness was one of much suffering, yet he bore all patiently, nobly, and it was his confidence that the pain and sorrow endure for a night, "joy cometh in the morning." In middle life he became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church; and the essence of his individual creed, as exemplified in the words of the Apostle Paul: "And now abideth faith, hope, charity these three; but the greatest of these is charity."
