LAST RITES SAID
FOR RUDY PARKER

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, for Rudolph J. (Rudy) Parker, who died early Thursday morning at Friendship Manor Nursing Home where he had made his home the past two years.

The Rev. Ercil Craven, pastor of the Oak Grove Friends church officiated at the ceremonies which were held at the Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Willard Heffner was organist and Warren and Greg Lincoln were vocalists.

Pallbearers were Leland Meredith, Ralph Rutherford, Ross Lincoln, George Smith Jr., Robert Halbloom and Clare Gross. Flower bearers were Mrs. Robert Halbloom and Mrs. Ralph Rutherford.

Burial was in Westfield cemetery southwest of Grinnell.

The son of John and Mary E. Heisel Parker, Mr. Parker was born in Washington Township, Poweshiek County, on Aug. 26, 1903. He was born and raised on the family farm in the Oak Grove community and had farmed there all of his life until his retirement two years ago.

Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Pearl Jelsma of Compton, Calif.; three nieces--Mrs. Harold (Eleanor) Thompson of Montezuma; Mrs. Herschel (Pauline) Griffith of Malcom and Mrs. Merle (Ruth) Lamb of Grinnell; three nephews--Paul Plum of Oklahoma and Earl and Lou Jelsma of California; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Julia Parker of Grinnell.

Mr. Parker was preceded in death by one brother and one sister--Clifford B. Parker on Aug. 22, 1965, and Mrs. Hazel Morrison in December of 1951.
