RITES ARE HELDMeredith J. Spooner, 5-day-old daughter of Michael and Deborah Trease Spooner of Rte. 2, Grinnell, died Monday morning, Sept. 26, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Graveside services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. John Epperson of the Grinnell Christian Church officiating.

The infant is survived by her parents; her grandfather, Frank Spooner of Grinnell; her maternal grandparents, Dean and Mary Trease of Grinnell; her maternal great-grandmother, Isla Talbott of Grinnell; and her maternal great-grandmother, Gladys Maupin of Harlan.
