OLD RESIDENT OF
DEEP RIVER DIES

Evan Thomas Whitney, son of Myron and Sophia Whitney, was born January 11, 1863 at Dresden and departed this life at his home in Deep River after about two weeks of severe illness with pneumonia and complications, on March 13, 1929 at 6:45 a.m. He was 66 years, 2 months and two days old.

Mr. Whitney has lived in that vicinity all his life. He has been connected with the business life of Deep River township for fifty years and in business in Deep River for a good many years. He was converted about thirty-two years ago and joined the Methodist church of which he has been a member since. Mr. Whitney was also a member of he Masonic lodge.

A faithful and loving husband and father leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, a son, Clark, a daughter, Louise Eichhorn of Malcom, two brothers, Rudolph of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Eugene of Clear Lake, and two sisters, Edith Light of Deep River and Ethel Phelps of Guernsey, and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was held from the home at two o'clock Friday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. E.L. Patterson, pastor of the Methodist church.--Montezuma Republican.
