MRS. JUAN SHOEMAKER

Mrs. Juan Shoemaker was born at Travisville, Tenn., July 19, 1877, the daughter of John and Theresa Moody. She died Oct. 20, 1956 at a Grinnell hospital.

She had been in ill health for a number of years. She came to Iowa in 1890 and has lived in Grinnell for the past 15 years.

Survivors are a son Dwight of Grinnell and a daughter, Mrs. H.V. (Frances) Craven of Newton; two sisters, Mrs. Flo Huston and Mrs. Ethel Kelly, both of Grinnell; and two granddaughters and two great grandsons. Preceding her in death were two sons, Dudley Porter and Leonard Porter.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the James funeral home. The Rev. E.E. Beattie officiated. Burial was in Hazelwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Gael Burk, Clayton Phelps, Charles Craven, Russ Otcheck, Warren Cormicle and Richard Griffin. Soloist was Mrs. Dolph Miller. Accompanist was Mrs. Willard Heffner.
