Paul Francis Beck of Fletcher, Ohio, formerly of Grinnell, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, of cancer.

A funeral service was held Friday, March 7, at Suber-Shively Funeral Home in Fletcher with the Revs. James Christy and Lisa Ellison officiating. Burial was in the Fletcher Cemetery.

He was born in Poweshiek County near Malcom on March 29, 1935, to Karl and Mary Schmidt Beck. He attended rural schools near Malcom and Grinnell High School. He was married on Oct. 9, 1965, to Joan Marie Reid.

He is survived by his wife Joan of Fletcher; his daughters Paula Beck Schmiesing of Piqua, Ohio, and Mary Beck of Chicago, Ill.; his son Karl Beck of Fletcher; two grandsons, and his sisters, Irene Morrison and Mildred Schroeder, both of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Fred, Walter and Harold.
