MARIE BECK

Marie Beck, 87, of Grinnell died Monday, June 16, at Mayflower Health Care Center.

A funeral service was held Thursday, June 19, at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Malcom, with the Rev. Herb Knudten officiating. Pianist will be Carolyn Busse accompanied by The Celebration Singers. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

The daughter of Mike and Malinda Roudabush Dee, she was born May 14, 1916, north of Brooklyn. She was raised in the Brooklyn area and was a 1934 graduate of Brooklyn High School. She was married May 23, 1926, to Walter L. Beck in the Little Bit of Heaven Rock Garden in Davenport. The couple made their home in Malcom prior to moving to a farm east of Malcom. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, the River Road Club and Chat-a-Lot Club.

She is survived by four sons, Marvin and Lyle, both of Malcom, and Donald and Melvin, both of Grinnell; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Walter Dee; one sister, Lola Gritsch and one great granddaughter, Carrie Jean Beck.
