Lake San Marcos--

John C. Manly, III, 78, died of lung cancer on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at Village Square Nursing Center in San Marcos.

Born January 17, 1927 in Grinnell, Iowa, he was a graduate of Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

He was owner of Manly-Williams, Inc., a telecommunications industry service company in Vista.

Mr. Manly is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lee Williams Manly; son John C. Manly IV and daughter-in-law Jill Manly of Newport Beach and their children, Christina, Dana, John V, and Ronald; daughter Mary Manly and her daughter Chelsea of Florence, Oregon; stepdaughter Leigh and husband Dana Corbin of Murrietta and their children Shea, Taylor, Tucker and Riley; and stepson David Williams of Laguna Beach.

Mr. Manly's cremains will be buried in Grinnell, Iowa. A Celebration of Life was held in San Marcos.
