DIES AT AGE 72

Emma Zimmerman Clark, daughter of Gus and Karolina Hackworth Zimmerman was born January 31, 1896 in Henry County, Illinois. She passed away Saturday, December 7 at her home in Deep River, Iowa.

Having been born in Illinois, Emma Zimmerman moved with her family to Iowa as a young person. On September 12, 1917, she was united in marriage to Leslie Clark of Deep River. Their fifty-one years of married life was spent in farming near Deep River. In 1948 they moved to Montezuma and in 1954 to a house in Deep River continuing in the farming operation.

She is survived by her husband, Leslie; three brothers, Gus Zimmerman of Toulon, Illinois; Joe of Keswick and Roy of Deep River; and by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers. Always a good neighbor and friend, she will be missed by those who knew her.

Funeral services were Monday, December 9 at Steffy Funeral Home. Burial was in Sixteen Cemetery, What Cheer. Rev. James Seeber officiated.

Pallbearers were: Maynard Zimmerman, Leland Zimmerman, Forest Zimmerman, Gus Zimmerman Jr., Lloyd Gradest, and Russell Gradest.
