FOR 40 YEARS

Paul Revere Putnam, son of Charles and Abigail Putnam, was born on a farm near Deep River, Mar. 5, 1894, and died at his home in Montezuma Tuesday evening, Feb.13, at the age of 67 years. He moved as a child with his parents to Montezuma, where he attended the public schools and was graduated from high school. As a young man he served in France during World War I.

Jan. 1, 1921, he was united in marriage to Erma Saunders at the home of her parents. To this union one daughter was born. Their entire married life was spent in the Montezuma community where he served as rural letter carrier.

Paul was a member of the Blakely-Stevens Post of the American Legion and was a past commander. He was also a member of the Montezuma Methodist church and the Lafayette Lodge No. 52, A.F. & A.M. He was an honored member of the National Letter Carriers' Association, recently becoming eligible for their 40-year safe-driving award.

He is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Jo Ann Hall, Waynesville, Mo., and three grandchildren, Steven, Sheila, and Gregory Paul, also of Waynesville, and many friends.
