OBITUARY.

Died, at her home in Brooklyn Sunday May 14, 1899, of a complication of diseases, Mrs. Mary Peacock, aged 65 years, 10 months and 21 days. Deceased was born in Lincolnshire, England, June 3, 1833, and at the age of twenty years came to America. On Dec. 9, 1858, she was united in marriage to William Peacock and to this union three children were born, Sadie J., John W. and Mattie A. Her husband died in 1863, and the son died in 1876. She was married again in 1872 to William Peacock, and by them four children were born, Elizabeth M., Joseph H., Charles E. and Emery L. all of whom survive to mourn the loss of an indulgent and devoted mother. Mrs. Peacock was a member of the Episcopal church of England, and always lived consistent and in harmony with her religious belief. She shone brightest in her home life, devoting herself to her family and surrounding them with the home influences that tend to make noble men and women. Last fall while descending some stairs she received a fall and sustained injuries from which she never recovered, in fact had gradually declined from that time. The funeral services were held at her late home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. A.V. Kendrick, after which the remains were tenderly consigned to earth in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. The children were all present at the funeral and to them is extended the earnest sympathy of the commmunity in their sorrow.
