REV. PAUL MALLORY

Rev. Paul W. Mallory, 87, of Washington, Ill., a former resident of Brooklyn, died June 7, in Proctor Community Hospital, Peoria, Ill.

Services for Rev. Mallory were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 10, in the Nevenhoven Funreal Home, Brooklyn. Rev. James B. Rea, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn, officiated. The organist was Marilyn Kriegel and the soloist was Julie Cheney. Casket-bearers were Steve Mallory, Frank Mallory, Mike Morrell, Jim Roark, Dean Anderson, and Kent Kamp. Interment was in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcom.

A Masonic service for Rev. Mallory was conducted by members of Corinthian Lodge #174 AF & AM, Brooklyn, at 7 p.m., June 9, at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home.

Rev. Paul William Mallory, son of William B. Mallory and Mary Avery Mallory, was born Aug. 15, 1907, in Mitchell, S.D. He was graduated from the Dakota Wesleyan Academy, Mitchell, S.D., in 1929. He then attended Chicago Theological Seminary and received his doctorate later in the State of Colorado.

On May 28, 1930, he was united in marriage to Alice Irene Bauman in Draper, S.D.

Rev. Mallory served Congregational Churches in Rockford, Michigan; Cadillac, Michigan; Huron, South Dakota; Chicago, Illinois, Abingdon, Illinois; Toulon, Illinois; and Mazon, Illinois.

Following his retirement, they moved to Brooklyn until in 1986 when they moved to the Washington Christian Village, Washington, Ill. Mrs. Mallory died Nov. 20, 1989.

Rev. Mallory was a member of the United Church of Christ of Mazon, Illinois; Corinthian Lodge #174 AF & AM of Brooklyn; and the Kiwanis Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, a daughter, a great-grandson, and a brother.

Surviving are one son, David of East Peoria, Ill.; one brother, Robert Mallory of Lubbock, Texas; one sister, Mary Alice Lintvedt of Canton, S.D.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
