JULIA H. OLIN, 83

Julia Helena Olin, 83, of Montezuma, died Saturday, July 25, 1998 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service was Tuesday, July 28, 1998 at Golden Rod Cemetery in Deep River. Officiating was the Rev. Dennis Dorsheimer of Jackson Church of Christ in Montezuma.

Casket bearers were Bob Vitera, Jay Blanchard, Frank Blanchard, Mike Richman, John Blanchard and Dennis Bruns.

Julia was born January 11, 1915 in Rose Hill, the daughter of Clarence and Daisy (Mayfield) Lewis. On December 29, 1931, she married Paul E. Olin in Kahoka, Mo.

Paul worked for the railroad and the couple lived in Deep River and, briefly, in What Cheer and Traer.

Julia worked as a nurse aide at the Poweshiek County Home, as well as at a nursing home in Traer.

After retiring, they moved to Montezuma. Paul died November 6, 1996.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Douglas; a son-in-law, Jimmie Vitera and three brothers, Lawrence, Roy Lewis and Albert Mayfield.

She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Joan Vitera of Montezuma; Jeanie and Dean Richman of Cedar Rapids and Ruby and Carl Blanchard of Coal Valley, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
