RITES FOR MRS. TROY HELD

Services for Mrs. Walter (Frances) Troy were held Saturday afternoon at the Steffy Funeral Home with the Rev. John Darlington officiating. Miss Alice Underwood was the organist at the rites. Cremation followed the services with interment at Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa.

Mrs. Troy, 81, died at her home here Thursday, March 8.

The daughter of John and Florence Hunt, she was born Sept. 27, 1897, in Mahaska County where she attended rural schools. On Feb. 5, 1917, she was married to Walter L Troy. They had two sons. The Troys farmed east of Rose Hill and later in the Barnes City and Deep River areas. In the mid-1940s they moved to a farm fnear Union Mills where they lived until moving to Montezuma 2-1/2 years ago.

She is survived by her husband, Walter; their family, Orville Troy of Des Moines, Eugene Troy of Kennsington, Calif.; two grandchildren, Dr. James Troy of New York, N.Y. and Jane Troy of Des Moines; and two sisters, Jennie Hunt of Rose Hill and Mrs. Mary Osteen of Oskaloosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sylvia Hunt and Anna Stringfellow; and two brothers,John and Walter Hunt.
