Kenneth C. Crabb of Boulder City, Nev., former general manager and controlling stockholder of The Herald-Register Publishing Company, died Tuesday at a Chicago hospital.

Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Sigourney.

Crabb was president of the Iowa Press Association in 1943-44.

He worked for the Sigourney Review and Ottumwa Courier and in 1927 purchased the Eddyville Tribune. He became manager of the Albia Union Republican and Monroe County News in 1931.

In January, 1943, he was named general manager of the Grinnell Herald-Register and later became controlling stockholder. He purchased the Alamose (Colo.) Courier in 1945 and later, with his son, Kenneth W. Crabb, purchased the Dawson County Review and the Daily News in Glendive, Mont.

The elder Crabb retired in 1952 after they sold these newspapers. He then worked for the Cedar Rapids Gazette for six years before moving to Boulder City.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Kenneth W. Crabb of Indianola and Dr. Donald H. Crabb of Chicago; five grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Roy Crabb of Keokuk.
