RITES HELD FOR MRS. HOOVER

Darlene Hoover, 51, of 1129 West St., Grinnell, died at her home Wednesday, May 25.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn, with the Rev. John Epperson, pastor of the Grinnell Christian Church, officiating. Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Dean Smith. Pallbearers were Dennis Boyd, Randy Boyd, Bob Boyd, Rod Thompson, Tom Thompson, Jeff Thompson, Joe Zoll and Tim Heishman. Burial was in Brooklyn Cemetery.

She was the daughter of Ralph and Gladys Millie Newman Walter and was born near Oskaloosa June 22, 1936. She received her education in New Sharon, Montezuma and the Paris Academy in Cedar Rapids. She and her twin sister, Marlene, formerly owned and operated Twinette Beauty Bar in Brooklyn and in recent years she operated Darlene's Hairstyling in Grinnell.

She was married to Don Brannian April 6, 1956, in Brooklyn, and they were later divorced. In 1973 she was married to Ike Hoover in Missouri, and he died in 1978.

Surviving are her father, Ralph Walter of Grinnell, and four sisters, Betty Louise Zoll of Grinnell, Rosemary Thompson of New Sharon, and Marlene Heishman of Brooklyn.

She was preceded in death by her mother and her husband.
