RITES HELD FOR
MYRNA YOUNG

Myrna Young, 79, of 909 Elm St., Grinnell, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Epperson of the Grinnell Christian Church officiating. Organist was Jolene Jones, and pallbearers were John Dowd, Charles Sergeant, Brian Smith, Donald Stoker, Melvin Stoker and Robert Walker. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of William J. and Allie Chase Peters, she was born Oct. 7, 1909, in Jasper County. She attended Grinnell High School.

She was married to O. Bernard Young Oct. 12, 1934, in Newton. The couple lived in Wisconsin for eight years before returning to Grinnell in 1946.

Mrs. Young was a member of the Grinnell Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband and a sister, Eva Van Draska of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Hazel; and three brothers, Sherm, Ernest and Glen Peters.
