DEE PASSES AWAY

(From the Brooklyn Chronicle)

Mrs. Claybourne Dee of near Victor, died Sunday, May 3, and was buried Monday, May 4, at the Kent cemetery. Services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 in the Kent Chapel, conducted by the Rev. E.W.F. Holler. Miss Thursia Manatt and Mrs. Nellie Sherwood sang, accompanied by Mrs. F.E. Simeral at the organ. Pallbearers were Mike Dee, John Dee, Frank Dee, Henry Dee, Hiram Dee, and Ernie Weaver.

Beatrice Violet James, daughter of Mamie and Ellsworth James, was born June 20, 1886, in Corning, Iowa, and died May 3, 1931, at her home near Victor, at the age of 44 years, 10 months and 13 days. At the age of 14 she moved with her family to Glidden, Iowa, where she attended school, graduating from the high school in 1906. She taught school for a number of years after her graduation, and later took up the millinery trade.

On September 13, 1913, she was united in marriage at Indianola, Iowa, to Claybourne Dee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dee of Brooklyn. To this union seven children were born, three boys, Earl, Ivan and James, and four girls, Ruth, Roberta, Rosemary and Evelyn. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her, her father, Ellsworth James of Oregon City, Oregon, one sister Pansy Wilson of Los Angeles, and one brother Earl James of Ladora. Her mother preceded her in death.
