EMMA GILFILLAN, 94,
DIES; KANSAS BURIAL

Mrs. Emma Viola Gilfillan, 94, of Route 2, Kellogg, died at a local hospital Saturday night after an illness of four years. She lived most of her life in Kansas, but after a fall four years ago, came to live with her daughter, Mrs. Willis (Ora Fern) Osborn.

She was born the daughter of George and Elizabeth Billman Collins in Dark county, Ohio, Aug. 7, 1862. She was young when the family moved to Illinois, and then to Kansas.

In 1888 she was married to Calvin Gilfillan near Ft. Scott, Kansas. To this union were born three children, Mrs. E.M. (Ethel) Adams of Gas City, Kas., Mrs. Osborn and Robert L. Gilfillan of Magalia, Calif. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two brothers, Grant Collins of Bakersfield, Calif., and Albert Collins of Melvin, Kas.

She was a member of the Methodist church in Gas City.

Funeral services will be held in Gas City, and burial will be made in LaHarpe, Kas. Friends may call the Smith Funeral Home for additional information.
