IDA SKEELSMrs. Ida Mae Case Skeels was born in Marietta, Delaware county, Ohio, and came to Iowa with her parents in infancy.
She was the daughter of Emery Case and the sister of Mrs. S.D. Dunlap, George Case and William Case. Mrs. Skeels' parents came to Iowa and settled at Ladora, where she lived until she was about 14 years old, when her parents moved to Grinnell, where she lived until her death.
At the age of 19 years she was united in marriage to J.H. Skeels, and to this union were born three sons and a daughter, who are: William R. Skeels, (Lloyd Skeels, who died in infancy), Earl J. Skeels and Ethel Mae Skeels Cooley. Her husband, James H. Skeels, preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1920, which was sixteen years ago Tuesday.
Mrs. Skeels was always a great home lover and a lover of flowers, of which she had many kinds.
Mrs. Skeels has lived at her present address for more than forty years.
Those left to mourn her death are her sister, Mrs. S.D. Dunlap, her brother, William Case, and her children and grandchildren.
