Malinda M. Evans

OBITUARY

Malinda M. Evans, daughter of William and Dollie (Glass)Evans, was born in Green(e) Co., Ohio, March 29, 1846. In 1854 she came to Poweshiek Co., Iowa, with her parents and spent the remainder of her life here.
Her mother died when she was quite young and her father has been dead many years.
She was married to Isaac Brees about 40 years ago, who departed this life in 1887.
Three children were born to this union, two of whom have gone before. One son, Charles, is left to mourn her loss. Four brothers and two sisters are living of a family of ten children. James D. Evans of Searsboro, John D. Evans of Armour, S. Dak., Thomas Evans of Platte, S. Dak., George Evans of Houston, Mo., Mrs. Edna Dudley of New Sharon and Mrs. Cenith Fish( Asenith Tish) of Searsboro. James and two sisters were present at the funeral.
She has been a member of the Christian church for about fifteen years and said she was prepared to die as the death angel drew near.
She died Friday morning, Nov. 18th, at 6:15 o'clock, after prolonged illness with that dread disease tuberculosis of the lungs at the home of her son, Charles, with whom she made her home.
Her funeral was conducted Sunday, at 2 p.m. from the M.E. church in Searsboro by Rev. Mr. O'Connor, minister of the Christian church at New Sharon.
Interment was made in Searsboro cemetery by the side of her husband's remains.
A very large concourse of relatives and friends followed the remains to their final resting place.
