Mamie Ethel Davis was born in Putnam Co., Mo., Aug. 2, 1885, and passed away after a lingering illness at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, Dec. 3, 1927.

She was united in marriage Jan. 12, 1904, with H.B. Osborn at Cincinnati, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Mrs. E.M. Carl, Des Moines, Iowa; Vera, Ivah and Mae at home. For nine years Mrs. Osborn lived near Malcom and last spring moved with the family to a farm two and a half miles east of Grinnell.

She was a member of the Methodist church at Cincinnati, Iowa, and had maintained her faith in Jesus as her Saviour. A heard working woman, she frequently went beyond the limit of her strength in caring for those whom she loved.

Beside her husband and children she leaves to mourn her death, her father, Isaiah Davis, Mendota, Mo., a brother, George Davis of California and a sister Mrs. W.T. Johnson, of Grinnell; six half-brothers and three half-sisters, Alonzo Davis, of California, Lloyd Davis, Des Moines, Iowa, Norman Davis, Cedar Rapids, Walter Davis, Newton, Claude and Donald Davis of Mendota, Mo., Mrs. Raymond Grogan, Grinnell, Mrs. E.E. Gray and Mrs. Lawrence Fullhart of Centerville, Iowa.

Funeral services were held from the home at one-thirty, Monday afternoon and from the Methodist church in Grinnell at two o'clock in charge of the Rev. George Blagg. Appropriate hymns were sung by Mrs. D.H. Snook and Mrs. Robert Bouma. The pall bearers were Truman and Grant Heishman, George Carson, Dick Nelson, Mervin Alrey and Floyd Stewart. Burial was made in Hazelwood.
