The death of Miss Myrtle Porter occurred Friday morning in Davenport at the home of Mrs. J. Oylers, with whom she had made her home for some time past. She was employed at the Model Laundry. Her death came after a short illness of peritonitis.
Miss Myrtle Pearl Porter was born at Steuartsville, Mo., June 8, 1896, and departed this life October 22, 1915, aged 19 years, 4 months and 14 days. She was of a loving disposition and always tried to make the home happy and those around her by being kind and good. She leaves to mourn her loss a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Porter of Kellogg, Ia., four sisters and three brothers and a host of relatives and devoted friends.
Funeral services were held at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Kibbee, Sunday afternoon at 2:30. Interment in Brooklyn I.O.O.F. cemetery.
