Verna Mabel, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dutro, passed away at the home of her parents near Thurman, Colo., Dec. 28, 1917, after a lingering illness of twelve months. Verna was a very patient sufferer. She bore her suffering without a word of complaint and patiently waited God’s call to take her home.

Verna was born at Brooklyn, Iowa, July 28, 1902, making her 15 years and 5 months of age at the time of death. She leaves to mourn the loss of a loving daughter and sister, a mother and father, five sisters and two brothers, besides other loved ones.

Funeral services were held at the home on Saturday afternoon at one o’clock conducted by Rev. J. K. Myers, assisted by Rev. McGill. Interment was made in the Arriba cemetery.
