Funeral Services Held Tues. for Jessie Graham

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Miss Jessie Graham at the home on north Mill street, the Rev. E. W. F. Holler in charge. Pall bearers were: Jim Keller, Graham Kenyon, Fayne Seehorn, Emmett Douglass, Harry Murrison and Chris Jespersen. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Jessie F. Graham, daughter of R. W. and Elizabeth Graham, was born in Smith Falls, Canada, on July 18, 1860, one of a family of twelve children. She passed away at her home in Brooklyn on July 11, 1936, aged 75 years, 11 months and 24 days.

When she was 8 years of age, she moved with her parents and family to a farm near Brooklyn, where she grew to womanhood. She attended the State Teachers college at Cedar Falls, and then returned to her home community and taught school. She left Brooklyn to go to Rockwell City, about 1898, where she was in business for several years. From there she went to Balaton, Minn., where she worked in a store for ten years.

At the death of her mother, she returned to Brooklyn to make her home with her sister, Robina, at which place she resided until her death. She maintained the family home at which place all the relatives loved to gather. She passed away suddenly and quietly following a very brief illness.

Of the twelve brothers and sisters, only two remain to mourn her going, her brother John Graham, of Lake View, Iowa, and sister, Mary Gillman, of Brooklyn, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Those from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John Graham, Mrs. Helen Wartchow and daughter Beata Jean of Lake View; C. W. Leonard, Mr. and Mrs. Christ Jespersen of Rockwell City; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gilman and son, Clinton, of Lynd, Minn.; Miss Maggie Murrison of Balatin, Minn.; and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Murrison of Des Moines.
