OMAR G. TWEED

Omar Gordon Tweed, 95, of Toledo, a well-known area piano tuner who played violin for many years with the Grinnell Orchestra, died Friday, Oct. 8, at Bethesda Care Center in Toledo.

Graveside services were conducted Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Toledo, with the Rev. Jerry Evelsizer officiating. The Overton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The son of Edward G. and Josephine Bryngelson Tweed, he was born March 19, 1898, in LeGrand. He was married to Laura LuRee Ullom May 15, 1937, in Toledo. The couple lived in Toledo where Mr. Tweed worked as a piano tuner and rebuilt pianos for area families and churches.

Mr. Tweed was a member of the National Piano Technicians Guild.

He is survived by one son, Charles of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, Roy of Waterloo; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Carl, Eli and Henry; and one sister in infancy.
